Square Enix has released new details on the upcoming action shooter game Left Alive. The game was announced at Tokyo Game Show 2016.
The new game is being developed by Square Enix along with veteran developers who worked on Armored Core, Metal Gear, Ghost in The Shell: Arise and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Left Alive is said to be set in the same world and atmosphere as the Front Mission franchise, placing its setting between Front Mission 5 and Front Mission Evolved.
The game will feature three protagonists, including a young man and woman, and players will change between them throughout the game's story campaign, much like the character switching system featured in Grand Theft Auto V.
The development studio has not yet confirmed whether the game will feature multiplayer functionality because it wants to focus on developing a solid singleplayer campaign first.
Along with new details the studio has also released two new screenshots and new artwork.
Left Alive is expected to launch in 2018 for PC and PlayStation 4.
