Indie development studio Earthbound Games has announced its multiplayer sports arena game Axiom Soccer will be available on Steam Early Access next week.
In Axiom Soccer players pass, dribble and shoot their way to victory on the pitch by skilful piloting of their projectile-firing drone. Fast paced third-person shooter action and football tactics combine to keep you scoring, winning and moving up the leagues.
The game is said to be a fresh take on future sport. Unlike Rocket League, players will be able to make use of the pneumatic cannon and remote-activated goalkeeper to influence the game from distance.
It supports competitive and collaborative play both offline and online and can be played against either AI opponents or up to five other players. Offline local play allows up to four players to play against each other.
Axiom Soccer will release on Steam Early Access on April 11, 2019, and will be free to play.
