Indie development studio ConcernedApe has announced that the adventure game Stardew Valley will make its way to the Nintendo Switch this Thursday.
In the game players inherit an old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins players will have to set out on an adventure to progress through the game.
The player manages their character's time and energy levels as they clear land, plant and tend crops, raise livestock, craft goods, mine for ores, and engage in social activities, including romances leading towards marriage, with the various residents of the small town.
While the player engages in all those activities he or she must also focus on earning in-game money to expand their farm.
The game is praised for its wide variety of content and role-playing gameplay features. When the game was first released on Steam it sold over a million copies within two months.
Aside from the upcoming console release the game's developer is also planning on expanding the game by including co-op multiplayer and adding support for other platforms.
Stardew Valley first released on February 26, 2016, for PC and eventually made its way to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 14, 2016.
The Nintendo Switch edition launches on October 5, 2017, and will be available via the console's eShop for $14.99 USD in North America and €14.99 in Europe.
