Publisher Activision has announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot will be featuring a 2v2 player multiplayer mode called Gunfight. The game releases in October.

According to a recent announcement, Gunfight is one of several multiplayer modes included in the game. In the mode small teams go head to head in multi-round "cage" combat. The first duo to reach the win limit is victorious.

The maps available in this separate mode are different than those found in traditional modes. It will feature a series of custom confined maps not accessible elsewhere.

Every player will have access to the same loadouts and loadout switches are only possible every two rounds. Every round lasts 40 seconds, after which overtime begins and a flag spawns for capture. The first duo to win six rounds wins.

The mode is said to be a fast-paced "pick-up-and-play" experience that is easy to learn.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25, 2019, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
