Development studio Crytek has confirmed that it is working on the next entry in the Crysis franchise. Crysis 4 is its current working title.
The game's announcement does not mention anything about its gameplay, campaign or setting, but the studio does mention that it will share new details when they are ready to share more.
The studio has a dedicated and talented team working hard to "bring you a truly next-gen shooter" while also redirecting to its game development vacancies to acquire talent.
The announcement of the game came with a teaser trailer that doesn't show any gameplay, but instead shows pre-rendered CGI geometry that forms the number 4, indicating the fourth game is in development.
The studio hopes that the next instalment in the franchise "lives up to all of your expectations", but does not go into further details.
The first entry in the franchise, Crysis, was notorious for giving high-end gaming machines a hard time to maintain stable frame rates. In Crysis, players are equipped with an advanced nanosuit, giving special abilities and powers through several different modes, while they play through its story.
