The game is the sequel to the 2017 original Horizon Forbidden West. In the original game, players had to unravel the mysteries of a future Earth ruled by Machines. Players could use a variety of ways to kill enemies, such as setting traps, shooting enemies with arrows, using explosives, and melee combat.

Horizon Forbidden West features a more expansive open world, new enemies, new cultures and new striking characters. Set in a far-future America, players will be able to explore lush forests, sunken cities and towering mountains as they play through the main story line.

Horizon Forbidden West is scheduled to release on Friday, February 18, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
