The upcoming indie Sci-Fi RPG game Encased has hit its $100.000 US funding goal on Kickstarter. The game is currently in development at Dark Crystal Games.
The game is said to be an old-school role-playing game featuring turn-based combat. The non-linear story campaign will be roughly 30 hours long with significant replay potential.
The player will be able to explore the open world and make decisions that will influence the plot. The world actively reacts to the player's actions and changes constantly. This also works vice versa, as environmental changes within the game will influence gameplay.
Encased takes inspiration from other classic role-playing games, such as Fallout, Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment, and is powered by a modern engine to create a new experience.
The game is currently in development at Dark Crystal Games, an indie development studio based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The team consists of developers who have previously worked on the Divinity franchise.
Encased is currently in a closed alpha development phase and is expected to hit Steam Early Access in early 2019.
