Rockstar Games has released 14 new screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2. The screenshots feature a closer look at the game's wildlife.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive.

It is the second time that the studio has released a batch of screenshots. Last week the studio focused on the game's cities and towns.

According to the studio, the diverse habitats and climates of the game are home to around 200 species of animals, birds and fish, all of which behave and respond to their environment in a unique way. 

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26, 2018, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A PC release was not announced.
