The announcement trailer for an upcoming map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has received thousands of negative comments on YouTube this week.
On YouTube the trailer for the game's Variety Map Pack that was announced last Tuesday has received thousands of negative comments from gamers who are angry about Activision selling reworked versions of maps that were already released as downloadable content for the original game.
The announced map pack is pretty much identical to the Variety Map Pack that was released for the original game in 2008. The map pack includes reworked versions of the four maps Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and Killhouse.
When the downloadable content pack was released in 2008 players were able to purchase it for roughly $9.99, or €9.99. The new map pack with the same contents for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will now cost $14.99, or €14.99, with the addition of 10 Rare Supply Drops.
The new downloadable content map pack is the next chapter in the game's problematic revenue model. Back in February the game's development studio, Raven Software, also received negative responses from the gaming community when it decided to introduce new weapons via the game's microtransaction Supply Drop system.
