Rockstar Games has announced it will be releasing a bundle of remastered Grand Theft Auto games as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Definitive Edition. The bundle contains the first three 3D Grand Theft Auto titles.
According to the announcement, the Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.
The titles will include various upgrades, including Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, new lighting and environmental upgrades, with high-resolution textures and increased draw distances.
In anticipation of its release, the development studio notes that it has started removing the classic releases from digital stores, although it did not specifically mention why.
Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Definitive Edition released on November 11, 2021, for PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch. The trilogy will also release for Android and iOS devices in 2022.
