IO Interactive confirms new Hitman game, to be revealed in 2018

IO Interactive has confirmed that it is working on a new Hitman game. The new game will be revealed in 2018.

The next Hitman title is said to include new features, some of which are a franchise first. The game is expected to continue the content model introduced with the 2016 Hitman release where content is cut up in several parts that are released separately.

What content will be available in the next game is still under wraps and likely won't be revealed this year. In a recent blog post IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak stated that the studio is planning to reveal the game in 2018.

In June of this year IO Interactive and Square Enix parted ways, meaning that IO Interactive is now an independent development studio and publisher. The studio has also retained the rights to the Hitman franchise.
