Indie development studio Killerwhale Games has listed its sandbox role-playing MMO game Raw on Kickstarter. The studio hopes to collect at least $79.000.
In the game players acts as citizens of the island state. The game begins on an island where there is nothing but vegetation. Players need to choose a governor. The governor must found the city and begin its development.
The game is said to offer a wide range of game styles and features. Players can own land, use air, water and land transport, build houses, work for the state or find a private job, as well as organize their own business in almost any field of activity. You can be on the side of the law or go beyond it. Or just fool around alone or with your friends.
According to the studio, the funding it will receive on Kickstarter will not be sufficient to fund total development. The studio notes it will host multiple fundraising campaigns of which Kickstarter is the first.
The game is said to already be in development for at least two years and already has several gameplay systems in place such as multiplayer, inventory, map, transport physics, ballistics and player controller.
With the current fundraising campaign the studio hopes to collect at least $79.000. The studio has estimated that it will need at least $300.000 to develop the game. It is likely that it will run additional campaigns in the future.
Depending on the funding, the game will eventually make its way to the PC via Steam. A console release was not announced.
