Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will release in April, TT Games has confirmed earlier this week.
In the game players can play through all nine Star Wars saga films in a brand-new experience containing adventures, whimsical humor, and the "freedom to fully immerse yourself" in the Lego Star Wars universe "like never before".
Unlike previous Lego games in which players had to advance through the story in a linear order, players can now choose to start the game from any of the main Skywalker Saga episodes and complete them in any order they wish through the open-world hub.
Combat is said to be improved from previous games in the franchise, now allowing players to use a variety of combos with light attacks, heavy attacks, and Force moves, and blaster characters having an over-the-shoulder camera angle to aim.
The game will adapt all nine episodes of the Star Wars saga: The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), Revenge of the Sith (2005), A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
The game is currently being developed by Traveller's Tales, a subsidiary of TT Games.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is scheduled to release on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
