With a new update for the shooter game Doom Bethesda Softworks has added bots to the multiplayer component of the game. The update also removes the anti-piracy technology Denuvo from the game.

The new update for the game adds new content, fixes several bugs and tweaks existing content. Most noticable changes include the introducing of a new multiplayer game mode called Infernal Run, in which teams fight to obtain the ball and score in the opponent’s goal.

Another noteworthy change is the introduction of bots in the Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch multiplayer game modes.

According to game cracking enthousiasts the new update also removed anti-piracy technology Denuvo from the game. The reason for removing the anti-piracy technology is most likely related to the fact that the game was cracked last September.

On Reddit a user who claims to work for a game development studio notes that game developers do not have to pay a license fee for the use of Denuvo if games protected by it are cracked within the first three months of its release, as long as the technology is removed from the game within the three month period.

Because the technology is now no longer used the game will be more easily modifiable and players who have had issues connecting with the Denuvo servers to play the game will find their purchase to launch without issues now.
