Indie development studio Fireblade Software has released the full version of its tactical sea combat game Abandon Ship. The game has been in development for several years.
In Abandon Ship players take control of a ship and its crew as they explore a procedurally generated world, take on quests and deal with random, and sometimes life-threatening, events.
Players will end up engaging other ships in combat and they will have to employ their best tactics in order to out-manoeuvre and out-gun the enemy. The game focuses on bringing “Age of Sail” ships in a fantasy setting, framed in an art style inspired by classic Naval Oil Paintings.
The new update introduces several pieces of new content, including the conclusion of the main story, a Freeplay mode in which the entire map is unlocked to explore as the player wish, and the final region the Uncharted.
The full release also includes region revamps to match the quality of the recently unlocked regions. The game is now said to have over 100 maps and every single one has at least one unique island and event to discover.
