The standalone expansion pack Subnautica Below Zero will be making its way to Steam Early Access next week, development studio Unknown Worlds announced.
Set in an ice-bound region of planet 4546B, after the events of the original game, Below Zero is said to offer a new chapter in the Subnautica universe.
According to a recent press release, the new game will keeping the core gameplay mechanics, such as base building and open-ended exploration.
In addition, the studio is also exploring new ones, such as thermal management and more voiced dialogue at the core of the plot.
The studio notes that the Early Access build is not finished and still contains many bugs.
Subnautica Below Zero will be available via Steam Early Access starting January 30, 2019.
