Red Dead Redemption publisher Take-Two Interactive is seeking ownership of the domain name RedDeadOnline.com. That can be deduced from a letter released by the domain owner.
According to the letter, the registered domain name violates Take-Two's rights because the company acquired the "Red Dead" trademark. The domain name was registered on the same day as the official Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement back in October of 2016.
Whether the letter has merit is unknown. The company claims that the domain name is a combination of the Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Redemption names and that the domain name registration "clearly copies" the two names by combining them.
The domain name owner has already stated on an unofficial Grand Theft Auto fan forum that he will agree to transfer the domain name to Take-Two Interactive before the stated deadline of 5 PM EST on September 21, 2017.
Take-Two Interactive is the publisher of video games developed by Rockstar Games, including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
