Indie development studio Fallen Tree Games has announced the release date of its top-down action game American Fugitive. The game releases next month.

American Fugitive is said to be a modern take on classic sandbox action. In the game players complete missions for the criminal underworld while avoiding cops trying to track you down.

Set in the 1980s, players assume the role of Will Riley framed for the murder of his father. Fueled by grief and a burning desire for vengeance, Riley busts out of jail intent on finding the real culprit. Once outside, players will need to blend with the townsfolk to avoid recapture. Establish contact with the criminal underworld and stay one step ahead of the police dragnet.

In the game players can explore the open world environment of fictitious Redrock County on foot or by car, rob houses, steal cars, arm themselves to the teeth, and complete time trial challenges and stunt jumps.

American Fugitive releases on May 21, 2019, for PC and PlayStation 4, on May 23, 2019, for Nintendo Switch, and on May 24, 2019, for Xbox One.
