Publisher Activision has released the first trailer for the 27th Call of Duty game Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The game was revealed earlier this week.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will take place between the second and third Black Ops game and focuses on tactical multiplayer gameplay. Activision has released 15 main installment titles and 11 spin-offs thus far, making this the 27th Call of Duty game.
The new game is very similar to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that was released in 2015. The differences to that game are minor: various over-the-top mechanics such as wall running and jetpacks are removed to focus on "boots on the ground" gameplay instead.
As usual, the game will feature various new maps, weapon models and skins along with a very similar Zombie mode. On the singleplayer side a full fledged campaign was not announced, but the game will still contain singleplayer missions.
The game will also contain a Battle Royale mode that takes place in the "biggest map yet" and is said to feature mechanics from all previous Black Ops games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases on October 12th, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. On the PC, the game will only be playable through Blizzard's Steam competitor Battle.net.
