Development studio Klei Entertainment has started the first closed beta test for its upcoming jumping game Hot Lava. The game was announced in 2016.
In Hot Lava players must avoid standing on lava in order to survive by jumping onto or over obstacles. The game features several levels, including classroom, bedroom, gym and living room.
The game is based on the nostalgic kids game in which players imagine that the floor is made of lava and should thus be avoided.
For the game's first closed beta test 2,000 interested players were selected. In the beta they have access to the the tutorial, the school level, the playground level and two skill mastery courses.
The game features multiplayer functionality that allows players to see others as they try to make their way through the obstacle courses. Players are also able to invite friends to join their game.
The first Hot Lava beta test is said to last until Tuesday, April 17, 2018, as the development studio gathers feedback to improve the game before its public release.
