Indie development studio Hopoo Games has released its multiplayer rogue-like game Risk of Rain 2 on Steam Early Access. In the game players must work their way through hordes of monsters.

The game can be played either solo or with a team of four friends to fight your way through hordes of monsters, unlock new loot, and find a way to escape the planet. No run will ever be the same with randomized stages, enemies, bosses, and items.

With each run, players will learn the patterns of their foes, and even the longest odds can be overcome with enough skill. A unique scaling system means both you and your foes limitlessly increase in power over the course of a game: what once was a bossfight will in time become a common enemy.

The game features seamless four player co-op multiplayer, over 75 items to unlock, new and returning survivors, and massive levels to explore.

The development studio plans to keep the game in this Early Access development phase for at least 12 months while it resolves remaining issues and adds new content.
