Indie development studio Modern Storyteller has announced that its murder mystery game The Forgotten City will release late 2019. The game is based on the similarly named modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The game is said to be a time loop murder mystery set in a mythological city. It is a re-imagining of the critically acclaimed mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which was downloaded more than two million times.
In the game players must face tough moral choices while interrogating diverse characters, gathering their secrets, and putting together the pieces of a giant interpersonal puzzle. The Forgotten City is a game about the human condition, for adults who enjoy figuring things out for themselves.
The new game retains all the elements that made the original modification shine while improving upon it and adding plenty of surprises. It features a new city, redesigned characters and dialogue, original lore, fresh twists and endings, added combat mechanics, an all-new orchestral score, professional voice acting, and motion capture animations.
The Forgotten City is scheduled to release late 2019 for PC and Xbox One. A PlayStation 4 release was not announced.
