Publisher Lionsgate has announced the fighting game Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. The game will release for all major platforms.
The game is said to be a "modern take on the 25 year franchise". Players will be able to fight with current and classic Rangers and villains in team battles.
According to a recent announcement, the fighting game will feature both a singleplayer story mode and online competitive modes.
The multiplayer component will support cross-platform matchmakingg. However, it is still unknown whether Sony's PlayStation 4 will also support this. Multiplayer is said to provide "endless replayability", and will include tournaments and missions throughout the year.
The game features a combat system that welcomes newcomers with simplified controls while maintaining depth for the most dedicated competitor to learn and master.
The game is currently in development at nWay, the same studio that worked on the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars for Android and iOS.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid releases in April for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and later this year for PC.
