Epic Games' Psyonix has announced that its competitive game Rocket League will be getting a new time-limited event titled Neon Nights.
During the event, players can earn Golden Moons, which unlock a mix of classic items from the Impact, Nitro, and Overdrive Item Series.
According to the recent announcement, the event aims to put the game's ever-evolving soundtrack in the spotlight - although it mostly just introduces two new items to unlock.
The event will not only include new songs that play in the game's main menu, it will also include new challenges through which players will be able to unlock cosmetic items. A new topper, trail, decal, wheels and banner will be unlockable.
Two new Player Anthems "Player of Games" and "Shinigami Eyes" can also be acquired, but the announcement does not mention whether these will be available for free. The new anthems are based on songs found in a new Grimes album from electro pop producer Claire Elise Boucher.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year the game will also offer players a "Year of the Tiger Free Bundle" in the Item Shop featuring the fearless Tiny Tiger Topper and Tyger Decal.
Rocket League Neon Nights starts on January 26, 2022, and ends on February 8, 2022.
