Grand Theft Auto V Manhattan mural, a closer look at the location
Grand Theft Auto V Manhattan mural, a closer look at the location
When work started on the Grand Theft Auto V boxart mural yesterday people questioned Rockstar Games' choice of location for this mural. Previously Rockstar Games used the building on Canal and Greene street in New York, an arguably way busier street in the city, as staple for Grand Theft Auto franchise artwork. This time Rockstar Games has chosen a different location, more specifically, 194 7th Ave S (7th avenue), New York.Early photos of the work-in-progress mural might have given outsiders, who don't live in New York, the wrong impression, some think this mural is being painted in some back alley, others think it's way out of the city center. Neither of that is true. The shot above, from Google Street View, shows the full scope of the location and makes more clear just how visible this new boxart mural really is.Thanks to Emmi for contributions to this article.

GTA fans call for release of Grand Theft Auto V press demo
In an interesting turn of events, a handful of gamers have signed a new petition that calls for a release of the Grand Theft Auto V press demo that was shown to several 'elite' gaming websites back in September. While the petition is quite interesting, the cry for a release of the press demo is something that can, without a doubt, be seen as futile. It's been more than 12 years since Rockstar Games has released a demo for a Grand Theft Auto game, last being a demo for Grand Theft Auto 2 back in September 1999. If you feel that the petition could shake things up you can sign it here.

Industry insider: "Grand Theft Auto V delay is marketing ploy" (Updated)
Industry insider: "Grand Theft Auto V delay is marketing ploy" (Updated)
The delay of Grand Theft Auto V could have been a marketing ploy, according to industry insiders. We spoke with an insider earlier today regarding the delay of Grand Theft Auto V and got hold of some interesting details. According to our source Rockstar already knew of the possible delay back in November, stating that Rockstars way of labeling games with release windows (eg "Spring 2013") and changing them is simply a marketing ploy, a way to get hype going, and with success.News of the delay quickly spread on Twitter and the game even reached 5th trending topic worldwide on the social platform. Some fans feel lied to as Rockstar has maintained that a spring release was possible, especially when Rockstar announced that the cover-art would be revealed in January.Update Rockstar Games has commented on this. "To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense - literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be"

GTAV DELAYED: Releasing September 2013
Rockstar has just released information informing fans and fansites that Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed, now listing the release on 17 September 2013 in the US. Yesterday we reported on how new advertisements for many major retailers, including Best Buy, EBGames, Saturn and Mediamarkt still boast the Spring 2013 text, now we know why, as that text was apparently, simply, a placeholder to avoid releasedate leaks."We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September - we thank you for your support and patience."
