The Dutch municipality The Hague has announced that it will start a legal procedure against Pokemon Go developer Niantic to remove Pokemon figures from several areas on the game's virtual map.
In recent weeks the Dutch city of Kijkduin in The Hague has become a huge tourist attraction for Pokemon fans because of the many rare Pokemon that can be captured in the area.
According to the municipality residents are complaining about the nuisance from players who seek to capture the rare Pokemon. The Pokemon hunters are said to cause noise and environmental problems.
In a statement a spokesperson of The Hague notes that the municipality has contacted Niantic to get the company to remove Pokemon from fragile dune areas.

Because Niantic has not responded to the requests of The Hague the municipality is now seeking to start a legal procedure against the company to force it to remove Pokemon from the game's virtual map.
In the past week The Hague has placed barriers to prevent Pokemon Go players from setting foot on dune areas that are off limits. The municipality has also placed more portable toilets and recycle bins to prevent players from urinating in public and littering.
Now that the municipality has hired a law firm to get Niantic to remove the Pokemon from the The Hague's territory it hopes to get a response from the company soon.
If the company fails to meet The Hague's demands the municipality will continue with the announced legal procedures.
