The Nintendo Switch may be getting a NES emulator via a future software update. References to the emulator were found in the most recent software update for the console.
The NES emulator is codenamed "flog" and will be available as separate Nintendo Switch system application. It is likely that it will launch with the console's online services early next year.
Whether Nintendo will sell NES titles via the console's eShop application is still unknown. The studio did confirm that it would be bringing back several classic titles for those who subscribe to the console's online services.
