A new patch for Dark Souls 3 has been removed from Steam due to stuttering issues. The patch was supposed to fix cheating in online multiplayer modes of the game. After the release of the patch players have reported stuttering issues during gameplay. The complaints were so widespread that the developer of the game, From Software, has reverted the game to a previous version.
"The patch has been removed temporarily to fix the freeze issues. We hope to reinstate the patch as soon as possible," the studio responded. "If you fall victim to one the bugs previously fixed, don't worry, you won't be penalized. We will keep you posted as soon as we have more information." the studio added. The previously fixed bugs include hacks that allows players to acquire items through unintended ways.
