Project Borealis is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 to provide severely improved visuals when compared to the original Source engine.
Utilizing a different game engine means the development team has had to spend several months recreating Half-Life 2's iconic gameplay mechanics and this progress is shown in the latest video.
The team further states it hopes to release a demo "very soon" to help collect benchmarks and optimize the game for a wide range of hardware.
This demo is expected to feature a recreated version of the iconic location Ravenholm - re-imagined to fit the Borealis theme.
Project Borealis is said to comprise roughly 80 developers dedicated to revisiting the Half-Life series.
