EA Dice may bring virtual reality support to Battlefield 1 in the future. In an interview Battlefield 1 design director Lars Gustavsson stated that virtual reality is definitely something that EA Dice has on its radar.
In the interview Gustavsson says that it is currently unclear what the game development studio will do with virtual reality but he does point out that the development studio has virtual reality on its radar.
"Who knows what we will do with virtual reality in the future, but it is definitely something that we have on our radar." Gustavsson said. For Battlefield 1 Gustavsson thinks that the concern of adding virtual reality support to the game came too late in its development cycle.
"If you develop a VR game you have many things to consider in order to create the best possible experience. You need a completely different mindset when you're working with virtual reality." Gustavsson added.
Whether Battlefield 1 will be getting virtual reality support any time soon still remains to be seen. According to Gustavsson "there are great opportunities" but in order to do it right EA Dice will need to acquire special skills.
Battlefield 1 launches on October 21st for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
