Doom 2 mod Brutal Doom 64 to launch October 30th
Wednesday, October 26, 2016 - 18:57 GMT

Game modder Sergeant Mark has announced that the Doom 2 modification Brutal Doom 64 will be available October 30th. The mod aims to bring the original Nintendo 64 Doom port to the PC along with several enhancements.

The Brutal Doom 64 modification aims to continue the project of porting the Nintendo 64 game Doom 64 to GZDoom and Zandronum engines.

Doom 64 is a lesser known port of Doom for the Nintendo 64 that was released in 1997. Unlike the ports for other consoles, the game is not exactly a port, but a completely new game featuring completely new levels, textures, sprites, enemies, and a new plot that takes place right after the events of Doom 2.

Unlike Doom 64 EX or Doom 64 Absolution the goal of the modification is not to make a one to one port of Doom 64 for PC, but to enhance it in every possible way by introducing new sounds and special effects that enhances gameplay.

Brutal Doom 64 features all the original 32 levels from the Nintendo 64 original and reintroduces enemies removed from the original game, including Chaingunguy, Revenant, and Mastermind, as well as an alpha version of the Unmaker as shown in the trailer.

Brutal Doom 64 launches October 30th 2016 for PC.
