Rockstar Games has launched a game development studio in India. The studio known as Rockstar India is a merger of Technicolor India and Rockstar Games.
According to Rockstar Games' careers website the studio is located in Bangalore. Since 2012 the studio, formerly known as Technicolor India, has worked on Rockstar Games titles, including Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3.
On the developer's website it states the company is "looking for talented and passionate individuals to join us at our new state of the art studio facility to ensure that Rockstar continues to reach new heights in immersion and innovation.".
Over the past few years outsourcing software development to India is increasing in popularity due to lower wages. A good software developer in the U.S. can cost anywhere from $50 to $80 an hour. In comparison, the hourly cost of a software developer in India can be negotiated down to as low as $15 per hour.
