Original Half-Life game gets new update to address crashes and security issues

Valve has released a new update for the original Half-Life. The update focuses on fixing several crashes and security issues that have been reported over the past few months.
The new update fixes two crashes that occur when entering malformed strings into the game's developer console and two security holes that allowed specially crafted and malformed map and save game files to write data to the game's data folder without permission.
Half-Life first released in in 1998 for PC. The game has seen numerous updates since its release. The last update prior to this latest one was released in 2013.
