In an upcoming update Payday 2 will ditch the microtransaction revenue model, Starbreeze Studios has announced today. In addition the publisher has announced that it has acquired all rights to the Payday franchise from 505 Games. The publisher is planning to support the game with 18 months of additional updates.
"PAYDAY is very close to my heart, and has laid the foundation for Starbreeze success in recent years. We’re very excited to bring our heisters home to the safe house," said Bo Andersson Klint, CEO at Starbreeze. "To start with, we believe in the continued success of PAYDAY 2 and will support it for at least another 18 months continuing expanding the game." Klint added.
Payday 2 launched in 2013 for PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
