Indie developer Gun Media has announced that Friday the 13th: The Game will be launching on May 26th 2017. The game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor or Jason Voorhees.
In the game the player will have to do everything possible to escape and survive, along with six other unlucky souls, while the most well-known killer in the world tracks them down to brutally slaughter the group.
The entire focus of Friday the 13th: The Game is multiplayer. Survival is entirely up to the player as they either stealthily hide from Jason or work together as a team to escape.
According to the game's developers every aspect of the game is drawn straight from the original movies and as a result players will be able to recognize elements from taken from the movie.
Friday the 13th: The Game was scheduled to launch in October 2016 but was delayed that same month. A new trailer was released last month that showcased the game's progress thus far.
The game is now scheduled to launch on May 26th 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
