The Steam community, chat services and API services are currently experiencing connectivity issues following a server outage. The issues affect millions of players worldwide.
Steam users started to experience issues at around 7 PM GMT on Friday May 19th 2017. At the time of writing, the service has been down for almost 20 minutes.
The server outage seems to have taken down the Steam community, chat services and the API services used by web applications to connect to the Steam database.
The server outage is the first major Steam server outages this year. The last time a server outage took down a major part of Steam's infrastructure was in December during the Steam Winter Sale.
It is currently unknown when the company expects services to be available again.
Update: As of 8 PM GMT some services are coming back online. Community services and API services are still unavailable.
