Valve has confirmed that it is working on a new version of the iconic Dust 2 map for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The map was pulled from the game's competitive map pool last week.
In a recent statement the development team behind the game has confirmed that it is currently working on a tweaked version of the Dust 2 map. According to the developers the map in its current form is one of the oldest maps in the game and therefore needs work.
Althrough the developers have not commented on what exactly they will change in the new version, the team did state that it wants to remedy some of the issues that currently exist and touch up the map's graphics so that it is in par with the other maps.
The iconic map has been part of the competitive Counter-Strike scene for over 16 years since it first released in March 2001 as a free addition to Counter-Strike 1.1 and was pulled from the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitive map pool last week.
It is still unclear when the map will be added to the Active Duty Group again but it is speculated that the rework is in early stages and will take several months to complete.
