Arma 3 developer Bohemia Interactive has released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming sandbox exploration game Ylands. The game is releasing later this year.

Ylands is said to be both a sandbox exploration adventure game and a platform for making custom games, ranging from simple scenarios to sophisticated game modes.

The game heavily focuses on creativity and imagination. Players will be able to create their own levels which can be played in via online multiplayer. User created content can also be shared with the game's community though an unspecified community hub.

Ylands is said to feature a fully interactable world with thousands of objects and items to be used, found or crafted, and levels are shaped by highly modifiable low-poly islands which are affected by resources, weather and wildlife.

Players will be able to "seamlessly switch" between singleplayer and multiplayer modes. The game will support dedicated servers and an in-game level editor will also be available.

Ylands launches on Steam Early Access later this year.
