Star Citizen will be getting Star Marine and procedural planets via a future update. That can be deduced from several online leaks.

Update 2.6 will launch Star Marine as separate module just like Arena Commander. Update 2.7 will launch the Stanton system that brings procedural planets. The developer of the game, Cloud Imperium Games, plans to have atleast 40 locations for the Staton system by the end of the year.

The developer is also introducing a new light system that looks more natural within the procedural planets. Players are free to land anywhere manually while automatic landing only takes players to specific spots.

The 2.7 update will also introduce a new cloud system that offers more depth and will also make clouds feel more natural. According to Cloud Imperium Games clouds will be much more than just a layer of texture once the new updates hit.

Last but not the least the update is expected to ship with improvements in server architecture as the developer aims to reduce instances. The goal is to have more players within a single server zone.
