Indie development studio Black Delta has released its kart racing game KartKraft on Steam Early Access. The game has been in development for over four years.
The racing game was supposed to release in June 2016 after going through its closed beta testing phase, but was ultimately never released and the studio ceased to provide updates on its progress.
The studio announced last week that there hasn't been a day the game hasn't been worked on, played or tested with over 15,200 code and art submissions in that time.
The new version features a large amount of new gameplay mechanics and tweaks, including a physics-based tire model, improved physics engine, remodeled karts, improved AI, cloud saving, leaderboard ghost modes and customization systems.
KartKraft will stay in the early access development phase for several months while the studio adds more features and content, such as basic multiplayer matchmaking, virtual reality support and additional race tracks.
