Microsoft has announced the two new Age of Empires titles Age of Empires IV and Age of Empires Definitive Edition during Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany.
Age of Empires IV is currently being developed by development studio Relic Entertainment. The studio is known for its involvement in the development of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Company of Heroes.
Microsoft has released a cinematic announcement trailer for the game but has yet to release further details.
The company has also announced Age of Empires Definitive Edition to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary. The game will feature the same content as the original and also includes a graphical overhaul, several new features and bugfixes.
Age of Empires IV is expected to launch in 2018 exclusively for PC. Age of Empires Definitive Edition launches on October 19, 2017, on the same platform.
