THQ Nordic has released the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming post-apocalyptic open-world RPG game Biomutant. The game was announced earlier this week.

The game is said to be an open-world post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG game featuring a unique martial arts styled combat system that allows players to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.

In Biomutant players are free to explore the world and what lies beneath its surface, by foot, mech, jet-ski, air-balloon or area unique mounts. There are lots of discoveries to be made, mysteries to unravel, creatures to confront and weird characters to meet in this vibrant and colorful world.

The singleplayer campaign tells an "unusual story with an unusual end" where the player's actions play a major part in the unfolding of the story.

The game focuses on third person combat as players progress through the martial arts styled combat system. As players advance they will also have the ability to change gameplay by "re-coding their genetic structure" to change the way their character looks and plays.

Biomutant also features a crafting system that allows players to craft weapons, including revolvers, rifles, shotguns and melee weapons.

Biomutant launches in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
