Publisher THQ Nordic has announced it will be releasing a remastered edition of its 2009 release Red Faction Guerrilla later this year. The game is titled Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered.
On the PC the game will feature "fully reworked" graphics with heavily reworked textures and graphical features such as specular maps, improved shadow rendering, improved lighting, shader and post-processing rework and native 4K resolution support.
The graphical updates coming to the console versions of the game have yet to be announced, indicating that it is likely that some of these features will not be available on consoles.
Other than various graphical changes, the remastered edition of the game seems to feature the same content as the original 2009 release. The most memorable feature of the original title was its innovate physics-based destruction system that allowed players to destroy buildings.
Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered is expected to release in the second quarter of 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
