Polyphony Digital has announced that the racing game Gran Turismo Sport will be getting a closed beta test next week. The game has been in development for several years.

The new closed beta test will give participants a sneak peek at the game's features as they will be able to choose from a select rotation of cars and tracks each day to race online against others during the beta phases.

This will also be the first time users will see how the Driver Profile is integrated within GT Sport. The introduction of Sportsmanship Rating and Driver Rating will ensure those that race online will be equally matched, naturally creating a balanced group of competitive drivers for every race.

The closed beta test will start on March 17th 2017 and will only be available to selected PlayStation Network IDs within the United States. A second beta test for European players is scheduled to take place at a later date.

As the closed beta test progresses, Polyphony Digital states that it will continue to invite more players to try out the game. For the initial testing phase the game developer will select players from timezones that best matches with the game's development team in Tokyo, Japan.

During the initial phase, testing servers will only be open for users during specific times across the day. A beta test website has been created to allow players to sign up.
