Developers of the Nintendo Wii U emulation software Cemu have demonstrated an upcoming version of the software that allows gamers to emulate The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the PC.
The emulation software is known for providing PC gamers with the ability to run various Nintendo Wii U exclusive games on their PC without requiring the actual console. The software also allows players to render the game at much higher resolutions, effectively surpassing the hardware limitations of the console itself.
When the Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launched last week users of Cemu were quick to report that they were not able to get beyond the game's start menu, making it impossible to play the title on the PC at all.
The video that was released by one of the Cemu developers earlier this week showcases an upcoming version of the software that allows gamers to actually play the game on PC, through several emulation issues will still prevent them from playing the game from start to finish as they won't be able to get past the game's start tutorials.
The emulation software is also still not able to emulate the game at the expected framerate, causing actual gameplay to be tedious and frustrating.
In the weeks to come the developers of the emualtion software are expected to make further improvements that could positively affect the game's emulation speed, through no specific details have been released yet.
