New World Interactive has announced that it has launched a free update for the World War II first person shooter game Day of Infamy. The update introduces new content to the game.
The biggest new piece of content included in the update is the new Rhineland map. The map was known as Kruppstahl and was created by community member JakHalz. The map has now been revised and has been added to the official map cycle.
The update also comes with five new units: The 2nd Australian Imperial Force, the 2/17th Battalion of the Australian Army, the The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), the 761st “Black Panthers” Tank Battalion and the 272nd Volks-Grenadier Division.
Also introduced with this update is the new Owen Gun that is available for all Commonwealth Officer and Assault units on maps featuring the Australian units, and a wide range of weapon achievements that can be used to unlock weapon skins.
If that wasn't enough new content the update also features a new Ranks system and a new "Tour" system that allows players to reset their progress after reaching the highest rank and earn new rank icons on the scoreboard and player card as well as fresh chances to unlock previously unobtained units.
The Aussie Update is now available free of charge for those who have purchased the game. The full list of changes is available on the game's Steam page.

This comment has been removed. The new map is decent, gives me COD 1 vibes. Especially the part in the tank warehouse.
