Vicarious Visions has announced new downloadable content for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The content pack features a remastered edition of the original Stormy Ascent level.

The Stormy Ascent level was removed from the original game before it was released in 1996 because it was considered to be too difficult and too frustrating to complete.

The developers didn't have time to make the level easier to play and the decision was made to cut it entirely.

For the remastered edition of the game Vicarious Visions has now released a downloadable content pack that allows Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy players to try the level.

The Stormy Ascent level is roughly four times as large as other levels included in the game.

The level is now temporarily available free of charge via the PlayStation Store until August 19, 2017. After the date the content pack will be available for purchase for $2.99 in North America and €2.99 in Europe.
