The co-op multiplayer functionality that is included in the upcoming platformer game Super Mario Odyssey will allow a second player to control Mario's cap Cappy.
Co-op multiplayer functionality for Super Mario Odysssey was announced earlier this week but back then it was not known in which way the second player would interact with the game.
A new gameplay demonstration released by Nintendo earlier today shows that the second player will be able to control Mario's cap Cappy. The second player will be able to control Cappy independently from Mario's movement.
With Cappy, the second player will be able to help out the first player by taking out enemies, by picking up coins or by helping to reach hard-to-reach areas.
Earlier this week Nintendo released many new screenshots and videos for the game which is scheduled to launch in October.
Super Mario Odyssey launches on October 27, 2017, for Nintendo Switch.
