Lizardcube has revealed that it is working on a remake of the classic Sega game Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap.
The game was first released in 1989 for the Sega Master System and was later ported over to the Sega Game Gear in 1992. The original game received praise for its colorful visions, audio design and gameplay.
"We are working on a modern version of cult classic Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap! A close collaboration between Lizardcube, DotEmu and legendary series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa, based on Westone Bit Entertainment's original masterpiece." the announcement reads.
The remake features updated visuals and audio though early footage shows that the remake has steered away from the game's original pixel graphics, losing some of the nostalgia in the process.
The game is published by DotEmu and a release date has not been given.
