Nintendo has announced that it has launched a Bug Bounty program for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console. The console first launched almost six years ago.

In the new Bug Bounty page the company says it is interested in receiving vulnerability information that researchers may discover regarding the Nintendo 3DS family of systems and is not seeking vulnerability information regarding other Nintendo platforms, network service, or server-related information.

For the Bug Bounty program Nintendo is mostly interested in exploits, hacks or workarounds that allow piracy, cheating or accessing content that is not suitable for children.

Nintendo will pay rewards to the first reporter of qualifying vulnerability information ranging from $100 USD to $20,000 USD.

Only one reward per qualifying piece of vulnerability information will be awarded and Nintendo will not disclore how it calculates the reward amount.
